A major issue in the past with satellite tv has been needing a tuner for each tv in order to control the channels independently. But now Dish Network uses primarily dual tuner receivers called the 322 and 522 DVR. This allows 1 receiver to independently control 2 different televisions and eliminates the extra $5 that was previously charged for the 2nd unit.

Now all basic digital home plan prices apply on 1 or 2 tvs and if you have 3 or 4 it will only be an extra $5 per month for equipment and programming. Previously, if you had 4 receivers it would've added $15 per month to the cost of programming.
